He took it as challenge and worked for his village with enthusiasm and included villagers also in these developmental activities.

He decided to mobilize the people and, with the collective support of all the villagers, he began to introduce changes. He transformed village in to model village with empowering villagers. Indian social activist Anna Hazare, Sarpanch of the village, is accredited to help in the development of the village. He was honored with the Padma Bhushan the third highest civilian award by the Government of India in 1992 for his efforts in transforming this village as a model for other Indian villages.
